The showers of June and July and now the heat
wave of August have brought forth glorious gardens. When in Sunapee, please
take note of five special gardens …. those of: Sunapee Harbor Cottages

Jackson Family home on Central Street Sunapee Harbor Riverway Properties
Each of the gardens has a sign indicating
their beauty and the appreciation of the community ….. a source of pride for
all who live and work in the town and a warm "welcome" to visitors to the
shores of historic Lake Sunapee. The gardens were judged for design, color,
maintenance and street appeal.
The community gardens, tended by a devoted
corps of volunteers from the Gardeners and Beautification Committee are
absolutely resplendent.
Congratulations to the Garden Award winners, the volunteers and all the
other businesses and individuals who exercised their "green thumbs" and
showed their community spirit by helping beautify our town in the summer of
2009.
The Sunapee Beautification Committee, an offshoot of the Gardeners, has,
since 2003 raised funds through Garden Tours and generous private donations
to landscape and care for the Harbor and Ben Mere Bandstand areas of the
town. Their ongoing mission is to be good stewards of Sunapee's green
spaces.
The Garden Award has been
presented to Sunapee Harbor Cottages 2007 - 2008 - 2009!
