Remote Control Boat Race - Bring the big kid out in you! Do you have a hobby of racing remote control boats and haven't had a chance yet to show off your skills in Sunapee? All Ages welcome... beginners to experts encouraged to participate. Various racing categories. A course will be marked out in Sunapee Harbor for you to try out your boating skills. Prizes will be awarded. Be sure to come out to watch and support model boating! This is a great way to learn about a hobby you may be interested in pursuing.

7th Annual Lake Sunapee Rock Bass Derby - Launched by student Corey McGrath as a way to have fun while controlling the predatory Rock Bass (Red Eye Bass), which were accidentally introduced into Lake Sunapee. (They are a predatory fish that eats everything else in the Lake ~ thus not allowing other fish to survive. They need to be removed from the Lake ~ and we need everyone's help!) Our Derby has become a family tradition around the lake for young and old alike - having fun and earning prizes while controlling these pesky fish. All are welcome! No limit to team sizes. Pre-register at Dewey Beach. Fish all day starting at 6:00 a.m. Weigh in is 11:00 (sharp) to 1:00 pm in Sunapee Harbor. No cost to participate. Fishing license required for 16 years and older and can be purchased online at http://wildlife.state.nh.us/Licensing/licensees.htm. Many prizes for participants.   Craftsmen’s Fair

77th Annual League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair – One of the finest, most prestigious craft events in the country today. This annual nine-day event, hosted at Mount Sunapee Resort, features both traditional and contemporary fine craft work by state-juried members of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. Over 200 booths of juried artists - Demonstrations & Workshops - Living With Crafts Exhibition - Sculpture Garden - and a variety of daily Performing Arts.

CANOE/KAYAK RACE - Four categories for canoe and kayak: Parent/Child, Doubles, Singles, and Senior. Bring your own boat/paddles/life jackets. Race course is around Sunapee Harbor with a limited number of canoes/kayaks for reservation. Sign up at Dewey Beach by August 7th. Call Brian Garland at 763.2554 for information on this free event. Winners get bragging rights!

Love Your Lakes Day and Antique & Classic Boat Parade - For the 29th year, LSPA is proud to bring this timeless event to Sunapee Harbor. It is an opportunity to see one of the largest collections of classic  boats, as well as enjoy fun activities and displays for the whole family “Under the Tent”. The day is complemented by availability of refreshments and a trip to the Sunapee Historical Museum. Open to all. For more information call LSPA office at 603-763-2210

Formerly the leading force of “Sweet, Hot, & Sassy”, Mary’s magnificent vocals and sure-fingered guitar picking are joined by Jeff
Horton’s up-right bass and powerful bass-to-the-sky vocals. She is also joined by fiddler, Tom Yoder, well-known singer/songwriter who has performed and recorded with the likes of Dickie Betts, Garnet Rogers, and Willie Nelson, to name a few. Performing a fantastic mix of folk, bluegrass, and country, the warmth and exuberance of The Mary Maguire Band are not to be missed!

There will be numerous games: Sand castle building, greased watermelon Croquet, Face Painting, Sand art, sponge relay race, Foul Shot Competition, Tug-a-war, Beach volleyball and Kayak races. Their music includes originals along with covers of artists the likes of Charlie Daniels, Alan Jackson, Jennings and Nelson, and Johnny Cash, as well as Van Morrison, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Chuck Berry, Bob Seger, CCR, ZZ TOP and more. This is "Not your mama's country", so buckle up, and enjoy the ride!
