Annual Holiday Parade -
not just Red, White, and
Blue! This year, we’re adding Green! That’s right! Join your fellow town
folk at 11:00 am at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church as we celebrate
America’s proud agricultural heritage and today’s green, Earth-friendly
movement toward sustainable lifestyles and environmentally friendly
practices! The parade winds through the Harbor, where intersections will
be blocked - as neighbors, friends, and visitors alike enjoy our long
Sunapee tradition of celebrating Independence Day. Even if you don’t
have a float, come join us on the parade route to cheer on our
neighbors! There will be an award for the best float, celebrating this
year’s “Our Green Sunapee – An Earth Friendly Community” theme.

Running of the Horror at Harding Hill Road Mountain Bike Race -
Hosted by the Sunapee Lion's Club. This EFTA Sponsored and Championship
Points Race is a great event for everyone who enjoys the rough and
tumble of mountain bike racing. Categories include Novice, Sport and
Expert with Divisions based on age and gender. The location is the in
the field back of the Webb Forest Logging area (where you park your car)
just off of Harding Hill Road about 1/2 mile down from either Route 103
or Stagecoach Road in Sunapee. Registration starts on the hillside near
the Start/Finish Line where there will be tents set up for handling the
riders, providing food and drink, help with your bike and all sorts of
other fun. Sponsors provide medals and awards with some cash awards to
Expert Riders and a special prize to the fastest man and woman in the
race. Registration starts around 8 am and there will be a free kids race
(under 13) starting at 8 am. All 3 race categories and divisions are in
a mass start at 10 am with 5 minutes between each category. Cost is $30
plus $4 for a 1-day EFTA membership if not a member for the day-of the
race and $25 pre-registration.
