6th Annual Lake Sunapee Rock Bass Derby -
Launched by student Corey
McGrath as a way to have fun while controlling the predatory Rock Bass
(Red Eye Bass), which were accidentally introduced into Lake Sunapee.
(They are a predatory fish that eats everything else in the Lake ~ thus
not allowing other fish to survive. They need to be removed from the
Lake ~ and we need everyone's help!)
Our Derby has become a family tradition around the lake for young and
old alike - having fun and earning prizes while controlling these pesky
fish. Last year 1300 rock bass were donated to the Vermont Institute of
Natural Science (VINS). All are welcome! No limit to team sizes.
Pre-register at Dewey Beach. Fish all day starting at 4:00 a.m. Weigh in
is 12:00 (noon) to 1:00 pm in Sunapee Harbor. No cost to participate. Fishing license
required for 16 years and older. Many prizes for participants.

Carey Lee
Rush -
If you put Martin
Mull, Richard Pryor, and Steve Martin together in a blender, add bits
and pieces of Elvis, some Jeff Beck, a dash or two of the Beatles, and
maybe a pinch of Led Zeppelin - then push the MIX button... the result
will be something resembling CAREY LEE RUSH. He's funny, plays to the
audience, and has you "rockin' in your seat" with his music. |
